Pesmel and China Zhongwang have signed a contract, according to which Pesmel will deliver four fully automated logistics systems to the company’s new mill in Tianjin, China. The delivery includes extensive carriage and conveyor systems and other handling equipment for aluminum plates and coils, and an advanced warehouse management system (WMS) for shipping floor storage. The systems will be delivered in several phases mainly during the mill’s project phase I in 2015 and early 2016.
The fully automated plate handling system handles 25 x 4,3 m sized plates in a hot rolling mill. Fully automatic transferring is done with conveyor carriages and an extensive conveyor system from the sawing mill to the roller heat furnaces, and from furnaces to leveling lines. Another similar plate handling system will be delivered later during project phase II, which is estimated to be completed by 2018.
The plate inspection and re-stacking line is the third part of the delivery, and situated in the cold rolling mill. The line has automatic un-stacking, inspection, marking, oiling, isolation paper feeding, and re-stacking functions for high end aluminum plates.
The fourth line is the automated logistics system for coils in CRM’s shipping area, including an extensive coil carriage and conveying system and an advanced warehouse management system (WMS) for shipping floor storage with user-friendly HMI:s for the crane cabin.
This contract is Pesmel’s fourth big delivery to China Zhongwang following four automated coil packing lines, a strip packing line, and two plate packing lines.
