As a part of Valmet’s new winder delivery, Pesmel will supply a new fully automated roll handling system to Parenco. This delivery includes an automated winder deck, strapping and labeling devices, and lowering upender transferring rolls from PM hall to the storage. The delivery of the system will be in mid-2016.
The new roll handling system is a part of the conversion of PM 2 at the Renkum mill. After the conversion, PM 2 will produce packing paper instead of newsprint that was produced earlier.
The seamless connection to the Valmet winder with its compact and cost-effective layout assured Parenco that selecting Pesmel technology as a part of their biggest project in the past years was the right choice.
About Parenco B.V.
Parenco operates two paper machines – PM1 and PM2 – and employs over 200 staff at Renkum in The Netherlands.
PM1 has a capacity of 265,000 tons per year, and is used for the production of so-called SC-B paper for magazines and advertising brochures.
The other machine, PM2, was shut down in 2009 by its earlier owner due to declining demand for newsprint paper. This machine will be converted, and will produce about 385,000 tons of packaging paper intended for the production of corrugated board from mid-2016.
