Pesmel will supply two automated coil packing lines with pertaining logistic systems to Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. The delivery is part of Baosteel’s ongoing CRM3 project in the Zhanjiang city at the Southwestern end of Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China. It is the second order from Baosteel in a short period of time. The system will be delivered to Zhanjiang in the latter half of 2020, and the start-up of the factory is scheduled for the Summer of 2021.
Scope of supply
The logistics system has direct interfaces with the process lines taking the coils automatically from the production lines using intelligent coil carriages. The carriages distribute coils directly to the packing lines and buffer saddles during peak production. The packing line includes automatic equipment for moisture and mechanical protection with a carriage transfer system. After packing, the logistics system removes the coils from the packing line for dispatch storage. The packing and logistics entity is connected to the Mill Information System (MIS), ensuring real time receipt of coil data and packing codes.
