Domtar Corporation has selected Pesmel to supply a roll handling and wrapping system to its Ashdown, Arkansas, USA, mill. This delivery is part of Domtar’s USD $160 million investment project to convert the A64 paper machine to a high-quality fluff pulp line used in a variety of absorbent applications including baby diapers, feminine hygiene, and adult incontinence products. This conversion is expected to come online by the third quarter 2016 with up to 516,000 metric tons of production per year once the machine is in full operation.
Pesmel’s delivery consists of a fully automated roll handling system with two high-capacity stretch packing lines with robots to handle the packing operations.
